![]() | What is a Royalty Company? What is a Royalty Company? Royalty companies derive their income from passive (non-operating) interests in mining operations that provide the royalty holder with the right to garner revenue from the project after deducting specified costs if any. These royalties are sold by their owners (mining companies and/or individuals) and are purchased in a highly competitive market. In many cases, mining companies fund exploration or new mine development with monies raised from the sale of royalties. While other companies seek to acquire royalties through outright purchases on the open market, Tan Range intends to accumulate royalties on the basis of exploration successes with industry partners and, if desirable, by exploiting the exploration potential on properties for its own account. The Company is focused on developing royalty income from its extensive landholdings in one of the world's most prolific mineral belts, the Lake Victoria Greenstone Belt in Tanzania.
